Guys, who was at Chiang Mai immigration recently? What is the list of documents for visa extension with embassy letter? This is for those who entered Thailand on tourist visa or visa stamp. Many thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a tourist visa at Chiang Mai immigration with an embassy letter, you generally need: two photos, two copies of every page in your passport, a TM30 form (with a Chiang Mai address), and two copies of the embassy letter. Applicants must also be patient during the process, which typically occurs at Promenada immigration that requires transportation. After obtaining an extension, questions remain about future extensions and the necessity of embassy letters, which may continue to be issued depending on the applicant's situation.

Congratulations you’ve got your visa extended. One question, what can we do after Oct 26? Can we get another embassy letter and extend it again?

I know that my Embassy (Ukraine) will continue issuing such letters until the situation in my country becomes better than it is now.

But I don't know yet, whether Thai immigration will continue issuing extensions.

So, today I’ve got an extension. Ukrainian passport. Will write a separate post about it. If to be short, extensions due to Covid 19 are at Promenada. Needed only one copy of passport pages, embassy letter, all forms that I get at immigration, TM30 slip, one photo, 1900 batt. It took us two hours to apply all the docs and to get extensions until October 26.

US passport applying for 30 day extension. I'm currently waiting at Promenada after taking my photo and all docs submitted. Pretty avg traffic day. Came during their lunch break at 12 noon.

2 copies of everything

They have all the forms you need besides your Embassy letter and TM30.

-TM7 (they have), must fill out twice by hand) BLUE INK MANDATORY

-TM30

-Passport: First two pages and the page of last visa stamp.

-T6 (was stapled to my passport/ visa stamp page)

- 2 photos of your self

- other docs they have

- 1900 baht

I have to return on Oct 2nd for stamp.

Just left out.

did you have to show proof of a place you're staying at? If so what did you show them?

I showed only TM30 slip. No other proofs. But I think it depends on country. So better to take everything you have with you and ask at place what they need.

Hi
@Irina ********
, thanks for that info! I am also in Chiang Mai and want to extend. Are you saying you can just go DIRECTLY to Promenada and they have all the documents that you need or do we need to print them out and complete them BEFORE we go there? Thanks!

@Caliph *******
yes, you can just go there without any appointment. We took with us only original documents + photos, and at immigration we asked what copies do we need. Copies you can make on the ground floor. And they also will give you TM7 and two more forms to fill in.

So you did not get the "under consideration" stamp with a date to return for the official extension? They just stamped you to 26-Oct straight away?

yes. I also was surprised, as everyone told that you must come twice.

I've been last week - you need two photos, two copies of every page in your passport, TM30 with Chiang Mai address if you don't have one in your passport already, 2 copies of embassy letter. Then you just need to be patient! You do this at the Promenada immigration so you will need your own transport to get out there. TM30 you must do at the main immigration if you haven't already.
