How Can I Legally Stay in Thailand After My ED Visa Expires Until My Flight on August 6th?

Hi everybody!

I am under an extension of stay stamp (after a three months ED visa for my internship) that ends July 17th.

My internship ends the 31st and I have a flight out of thailand (booked way before all this pandemic situation and still not canceled) august 6th.

Do you have advices on how to stay legally on the country during the first week of august? (Back when I booked everything I planned on doing a visa run but that option is long gone).

Since my contract ends within the amnesty I'm concerned I won't be able to get a new extension. And, if I do, I'd leave during the "under consideration" period would that be a problem?

Thank you very much!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to stay legally in Thailand after their ED visa extension ends on July 17th, while their internship concludes on July 31st, and they have a flight booked for August 6th. They express concern about not being able to secure a new extension and the implications of leaving the country during the processing period.

You cancel you extension of stay based on study on with the date 17 July as the last date of your internship,

Normally you should leave the country that day or apply for a new Extension of Stay and when you could not meet any requirements you got 7 days to leave the country,

Now with this so called amnesty you could stay and wait for the instructions of the new announcement, will it be extended or instructions on how to get a new valid stay. But as you planned on leaving, it might be an idea to find a flight near the 17th. and avoid the unknown

You should be able to change your flight (most airlines have a provision for this due to the situation) and you should also find out if the airline you booked with has been cancelling their flights.

Ok this is much clearer thank you very much!

If I ask for that extension, I would first get an under consideration stamp for one month right? Can I just leave the country while under consideration or are there steps I should take before I leave definitely?

I believe the extension would only be for the amount of time your internship was active, since the extension is based on internship.

Sorry, mixed up the dates,

So the date in your stamp Extension of Stay permitted up to is 17 July 2020.

But your internship is until 31 July 2020, this means you can still get an new Extension of Stay until 31 July based on your internship

Thank you for your answer
@Rob***
!

I'm still a bit confused, since my internship contract ends july 31st why would I cancel my extension and find a flight around the 17th? If I really cannot get an extension (or another kind of visa/authorization to stay) I might as well enjoy the amnesty and leave as close as the 31st as possible to keep doing my internship no? (The more i read my answer the more it sounds condescending but I assure you it's not! I'm really trying to understand my options and how to maximize time I can stay legally here)
