 my non O was issued by the Thai embassy in Bern, so I presume in this case I will need to prove the funds are from abroad ?

 yes exactly I meant the 400 k is better, in my case I asked the letter of income from the Swiss embassy, however they refused as they do it only for pensioner as they would have no means to verify passive income.
