Dear Tod & al.,

I read somewhere that we need to prove to the immigration that the money came from abroad not sure if this concerns the non O retirement or non O marriage visa. Can someone clarify ? I will be applying for non O marriage extension so not sure I need to show immigration my wise statement as proof or request a FET to the bank, I will go for the bank money method ie the 400 K

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired about whether they need to prove the origin of funds when applying for a Non-O marriage extension in Thailand. Comments clarified that there is no requirement to prove where the funds come from for Non-O visas based on marriage or for year extensions, regardless of whether the funds were originally from abroad. Another user expressed concern about future applications for a Non-O visa based on retirement and asked for guidance on proving funds if needed.

As in future i am interested in a non-O visas based on Retirement, in this case need that the funds come from abroad? How to prove it? With an history made from bank? Thanks for a reply

as I said only some offices require proof the funds came from abroad, CHECK with your immigration office. The transaction code on the bank book will show how the funds were accepted by your bank. SO make sure you transfer it in from abroad AND that it codes as international

There is no proof of funds origin required for Non-O visas based on marriage issued inside the country OR year extensions based on marriage (or retirement) inside the country

my non O was issued by the Thai embassy in Bern, so I presume in this case I will need to prove the funds are from abroad ?

nope you do NOT prove funds origin,

As I said there are NO proof of funds origin required for EXTENSIONS OF STAYS <- which is what you're applying for. They don't care where the money came from only that it was in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the year extension

@Tod ********
now the question was for initial visa it seems to me: so for non-O 90 days visa for retirement you need to prove that money came from my abroad. For the extensions you do not need to prove that.
