After waiting for the 5 year ban to expire. Just saying, it would be better to have a clean passport, versus a stamped one. They usually flipped through my passport looking at the stamps.

They usually flip through my passport looking at the stamps. One questioned me about the "Aruba" stamps. "What is Aruba?" "Where is Aruba?" Had to restrain myself from singing the old Beach Boys song.

I know this. Better to have a clean passport, versus one with a stamp on it.

Step 1. Obtain new passport, without overstay stamp.

Step 2. After 5 years are up apply for Visa, before leaving.

Good Luck.

Apply for eVisa on-line, before leaving USA. This will get you 60 days, instead of 30 days Visa Exempt. Can get at least one extension in Thailand for 30 days. So 90 days EZ. More than that, you will need a nother Visa like the retirement Visa. Or fly out of Thailand (Cambodia, Vietnam...) and fly back.

Allianz very quickly provided me with a letter, stating it covered COVID, to submit for Thai Pass.

I have Allianz travel insurance, annual. Covers me for everything (not just COVID), everywhere, and rental cars, and more..

As far as the eVisa it's emailed to you. I recommend printing it out, with a copy or 2.

I did an eVisa from USA almost 2 months ago. Immigration asked for the boarding pass from my last flight which was from Tokyo. They were more interested in checking the COVID requirements at that time
