EDIT: I’ve been already this year I did Thailand > Vietnam > Cambodia > Thailand. However I was with family then. Will this change anything?

Hey, I’m gonna be coming as a 18 year old solo traveller. First time travelling solo. I’m not sure when I’m going to be heading home from Thailand when I arrive but in the Thai Embassy website it says I need to show a return ticket or onward ticket to an officer to be allowed in. What do I do? Thanks in advance.

Hello 👋 I’m trying to apply for a 60 day tourist visa and have ran into a few problems.

For document 4. Do I need accommodation booking for my whole stay? For document 5. I’m going as a tourist so don’t have a confirmation letter? And I’m travelling solo so I don’t have an invitation for document 6.

Has anybody else had trouble with this? And how did you work around it?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Everyone

I am from Bangladesh. I will be traveling Solo to Thailand during the middle of September. During my tour, I will be staying in Chiang Mai for two nights. As I am on a solo budget trip, I will be staying in dorm / hostel bunk beds.

After going through reviews on booking sites and google map, I have shortlisted some budget hostels that are inside or near the old Town

1. U2 & i-smile Hostel ( 150 Baht per night)

2. Me-U hostel (130 baht per night)

3. Oyo-531 Le Light ( 160 Baht per night)

4. 84 Gallery ( 190 baht per night)

5. @Home Hostel ( 180 Baht per night)

If any of you have stayed in any of these hostels, then can you please share your experiences? Would you recommend them? Which one would be best among these?

I am leaning towards Me-U hostel as it's comparatively cheaper than the other options. Any idea how it really is?

I would also appreciate your suggestions for other hostels within the similar price range ( no more than 150-180 baht or 5-6 dollar per night)

My requirements are:

1. The bunk bed must have curtains around it for privacy

2. Not a party hostel. Even if it's a party hostel, the rooms should be quiet enough to sleep comfortably. I will still carry ear plugs though

3. The toilet / Bathroom has to be at least moderately clean. Minimum basic cleanliness should be maintained at least.

4. Convenient location. Within or near old town will be preferred

5. Cherry on top would be if they offer free early check-in if there are empty beds (I will reach Chiang Mai by 8-9 am in the morning)

N.B. I know Stamps is the best and most popular hostel in Chiang Mai but 380 baht per night seems kinda expensive as I can stay 2 nights in less than 380 baht in the other hostels I mentioned above

Thanks in Advance!

Hi guys, wanting to travel to Bangkok for 2nd time but this time as a solo traveller. I have found a Airbnb for 500-700$ AUD for a month.

What would a good amount of money be to have to last a month comfortably? Plans would just be travelling around the city and streets via taxi & metro. But odd nights / weekends would be wanting to go and explore the night life. 🙂
