Not for me. Mine is posted to the UK and then sent back, as is the new one.

Formally you submit it with your application. They cut the corner off then return it to you. So, you still have all your visas.

Your travel to Vietnam has to be within the first 60 days.

No one knows what’s happening to the 60 day exemption. The government has said they are changing it back (it was only a temporary measure) but there’s no timeline. Tourism numbers are dropping and they face strong competition from other nations in SE Asia, so they may choose to keep it as it is.

If you can get a job offer with a work permit then you change your visa. The author hasn’t said that he wants to work but I suspect that’s the intention.

The elite visa is the easiest if you can afford it.

Living there permanently is a little more tricky. If you are over 50 then you can get one of the retirement visas.

DTV is another option but you can’t stay permanently with it.

In most cases you can’t work. You would need a work permit.

I’ve been in northern Thailand for about 6 weeks and haven’t felt a thing.
