What is the maximum length of stay in Thailand using the TDAC and visa exemption?

What is the maximum number of days you can stay on TDAC?

There was much noise about it being 30 maximum rather than 30 plus extension which I think could give maximum of 90 days.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) is simply an entry card required for all travelers entering Thailand and does not dictate the length of stay. Currently, travelers entering Thailand without a visa (visa-exempt) receive a 60-day stamp upon entry, with a possibility of extending their stay for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office. Some concerns had been raised about potential changes to the visa exemption allowing only a 30-day stay, but as of now, the length remains at 60 days with proper documentation.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Good question.

Thailand’s Immigration Bureau is a Government Department with staff specifically trained to operate their specific procedures in accordance with the current legislation.

Suggest you contact them for a response to your query rather than strangers here on Meta/FB.

Lot of confusion regarding ThailandDigitalArrivalCard = former slip flight crew handed out before landing. Find a pen and all documents in order to get info. I always wondered what the people at immigration said trying to decipher the crow feet’s 🤣

Visa exempt, a number of countries do not need to apply for visa before entering, but still some requirements, onward travel (airline generally do this check as it is their cost), prof of accommodation and at least funds of equivalent 20K baht. Personally never been asked. One time I only wrote the name of accommodation and was order to fill in the correct address.

Visa on arrival several country’s use this and often handled as administration and collecting fee in cash

Traditional VISA, you apply from place of residency to Embassy or consulate before traveling.

I guess the confusion is with younger people from EU/EES with free movement. Older farts like me, had to be more prepared traveling in the olden days.

Thanks to everyone for your comments, as previously stated I’m mistaken, what I need to know, in simple terms without long term visas is, how do I stay for approximately 6 weeks?

Ok, so clearly I’m mistaken, having never stayed more than 28 days previously I’ve only ever needed a TDAC.

How do I get visa exempt?

TrustworthyHummingbird8294 your Thailand Digital Arrival Card is just arrival details. Nothing to do with visa or visa exempt.

If you were stamped in without a visa then that was visa exempt.

TrustworthyHummingbird8294 No extension. You get 60 days visa exemption at immigration as you enter the country.

You just SHOW UP in Thailand, get off the plane, go to Immigration, and hand them your passport.

You get the # of days as the law allows when you land. Right now, 60, but they're thinking of going back down to 30.

It's an information card, about you arriving.

0 days. The TDAC has nothing to do with how long you can stay in Thailand. It's an entry card that EVERYONE without a Thai passport must fill out to enter Thailand. Whether you're entering visa exempt or with a 5 year visa, you must fill out a TDAC.

If you're talking about visa exempt, then that still gives a 60 day entry stamp and can be extended one time for 30 days. It may change to giving 30 days on entry at some point.

TDAC is just the arrival card that everyone has to fill out when entering. It's not a visa or visa exemption.

If you're asking about visa exemption, it's currently still at 60 days. The noise you're heard is all rumours at this point.
