TLDR : Answer Summary
The climate comparison between Miami and Bangkok reveals that Bangkok typically experiences hotter temperatures, especially during the hot season, with higher humidity levels that can make it feel more oppressive. Miami has a subtropical climate and, while it can be hot and humid, it tends to have cooler winters compared to Bangkok. Both locations experience seasonal variations, but the rainy season in Bangkok is longer and associated with heavy rainfall that can lead to flooding, while Miami's rainy season is shorter. Discussions highlight the discomfort caused by humidity and the stark differences in air quality and weather extremes between the two cities.

If memory serves, Bangkok is hotter than Miami, and Miami might be less humid for more of the year. But, that’s only a memory, not based on science.

Ive lived in bangkok for 5 years and before that lived in Fort Lauderdale (near Miami) for 18 years. I’ll answer the climate question. Both have “winter,” hot, and rainy seasons. Bangkok Hot season hotter, but not that humid. Hot: Bangkok Temps low 80s night/hi 90s to 100 in afternoon; Miami 70s at night, about 90 in afternoon. Rainy: similar rain in both, warm temps but less than hot season. Street flooding more in Bangkok but can happen in florida, especially miami beach. Winter: coldest days in miami low in 40s hi low 60s; Bangkok low about 68, hi low 80s. Pollution and traffic much worse in Bangkok.

I'm talking about average conditions. The 9.9 degree C morning in late December 1999 was exceptionally cold.
However, another unexpected cold snap occurred in March 2011, twice in fact, which brought maximum temperatures in Bangkok down to as low as 18 degrees C or 64 F. This occurred for 2 days in a row, then 2 weeks later at the end of March, the exact same thing happened.
Another unusual cold snap occurred in late January 2016 with frigid temperatures for around 2 days in Bangkok and upper Thailand, and a third coolish day as well.
Miami indeed has much cooler mornings/overnight lows. That being said, Bangkok experiences cooler than average conditions from time to time BUT it's never quite as cold as Miami. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Bangkok was a frigid 9.9 degrees Celcius in December 1999.
14, 15 and 16 Celcius mornings occur every other year or so in Bangkok. 16 C (60 F) is probably the lowest minimum in an average year and may occur anywhere from once to 7-10 times. 18 C is the lowest minimum during a warm year and 14 C (56 F) is the lowest minimum during a cool dry season (as last occurred in December 2017).
Bangkok lows can be as low as 14 Celcius, which is around 56 F i believe. In most years the minimum is around 16 though, but only for a few nights a year. The average minimum is indeed 20 C or 68 F.
never seen that record low, or maybe i slept through it. Miami has many mornings in 50sF, some 40s, had frost on my windshield once. Bangkok much warmer
Interesting!!! Miami has a lot of beached wales on the beach where in Thailand the Thai ladies are definitely better looking.

Due to geographical differences, they are not exactly the same.

Florida is a shit hole run by racist Neanderthals. It's also rampant with crazies with guns.. They are kept scared and clueless by the politicians they elect.
the facts and current statistics do not align with your opinion 555 Florida is one of the fastest growing States and one of the strongest economies in the Union. These pesky little things called facts:-)
Best thing Is (unlike Florida 🙊) the leaders here in Thailand are NOT burning books , or banning Mickey Mouse ,and they encourage ALL Disney characters
When talking about Florida, there's no getting around "political bs". The "politics" is disrupting people's daily lives. Meanwhile, you're the one running, NY->FL->Thailand, trying to escape people with whom you disagree. I really have no words for that. Honestly, you could have not responded to James and me (keep in mind, I responded to James, not you...you CHOSE to engage with me), but you chose to do so.
Here you go, the relative humidity & precipitation volume are significantly higher in BKK.

Miami is more similar to Phuket or Samui than Bangkok, in the sense that you're going to experience high humidity year round and less "extreme" temperatures that approach or occasionally lightly exceed 40 degrees C or 104 degrees F.
Another difference is that a typical Miami winter is cooler than Bangkok. While occasionally, you do experience cool winter days with maximums in Bangkok at around or slightly below 20 degrees Celcius, it's rare and when it does happen it's for 1-3 days only. An average "cool" winters day maximum in Bangkok is around 26 degrees C (78 F), whereas in Miami, you can sometimes experience single digit (Celcius) nights and maximums as low as like 13 or 14 degrees C, which is almost unheard of in Bangkok.
I think Miami's climate is more similar to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai, with the exception being Miami being a coastal city doesn't experience a month or two of 40 degree C (104 F) maximums, as sea breezes moderate temperatures. It's winter time that is broadly comparable as the occasional rainy day in Chiang Mai or Rai with a temperature range of 10-22 degrees C 15-24 something like that, closely resembles Miami, which experiences similar temperatures on cool days during their winter.
The city in this region which is closest in terms of climate, including temperature range to Miami is Nha Trang in Vietnam.

Miami in the summer months with thunderstorms is hotter than BKk now
No, it just feels hotter because it's more humid. Overall Bangkok is a hotter city. Miami winters are much cooler than Bangkok, on average. They can however be compared with Chiang Mai or Rai, though the latter do tend to experience more days with the mercury above 30 degrees C or 86 F between December and February, than Miami does.

Caribbean is a more pleasant climate than SE Asia.
Correct although northern Thailand has similar winter temperatures to Miami. Early mornings are often cooler but day time highs tend to be a little higher (between December and February).

I’ve lived in FL ( a couple of hours from Miami) and Bangkok. Feels like you’re closer to the sun in Thailand but many days in FL feel hotter.

There is no place more suffocating than Miami in July-August, even Bangkok. However, the months of Dec-Feb are more pleasant in Miami and you can get just a little rain every few days during that period too. Miami doesn't have the pollution that affects Bangkok.
yes but my hotel bill is $250 bucks in Miami and throughout Thailand I pay between 20 and 70 dollars and the hotels are clean and comfortable. You guys can have the USA. I'm finished with those crazy prices
Indeed. However these cold snaps rarely last more than a couple of days and occur only every other year or so, unlike even in South Florida where you're bound to get a period of cold weather every winter, which may last like a week or so.
Women ten times more expensive in Miami and ten times less appreciative in Miami! Count your blessings and praise Budha for all the kindness you get in Bangkok and all of Thailand as a whole. Good luck mate!

Light miami on fire. Go stand a few cm from the fire. Thats bkk.

Miami is dry hot which is actually comfortable but the heat in Bangkok is very humid and uncomfortable
you have to consider more than just average temperatures. Cost of living and happiness scale are right up there with concerns. Thailand Knocks USA and Australia right out of the park when considering all three, not to mention the world class healthcare for pennies on the dollar
People in Bangkok and other areas of Thailand have been warned not to go outside due to extreme heat.
It hit 42C (100F) in the capital on Saturday, but the national weather service said the heat index - what the temperature feels like when combined with humidity - hit a record 54C (129F).

Maybe on the US West coast, but no one on the East coast uses the term Typhoon. Hurricanes occur regularly on the US East Coast.

I was born and raised in Miami. Miami is much cooler on a daily basis. Depending on where you are in Thailand but Bkk doesn't get the fresh breeze that we do back home. The humidity makes the heat very bad.
flooding in BKK happens just about every year and it's disgusting. Walking through the city in rat shit water every day. Yes, you can smell the rat shit everywhere. But it's not just the rat shit that's in the mix. 😅
Yes generally in late August and September. That's when it's at its worst. By October, the rain tapers off and the worst is over. In most years (except last year and the year before, which were La Nina years) the rain was essentially over by October 8 or 10.
summer rains are similar "without the hurricanes" but the rain season here in Thailand lasts until mid November. Id prefer the summer daily sun showers and rain in Miami. The rain in October in Thailand almost floods the whole country
Actually, the rainy season in Bangkok and upper Thailand generally ends in mid October. Yes, you do sometimes experience sporadic rain until November but in some years there's almost no rain at all in November. Generally speaking, I consider November to be a dry month, especially up north.
Correct, that's about right. In fact, Miami lies outside the tropics anyway. The tropic of cancer, which marks the northern end of the tropical zone, runs a few degrees to the south.
