Did I apply correctly for a Non-O visa to stay in Thailand for 4 months?

Did I make a mistake applying for a visa? I submitted a request for an o visa online. I was hoping to stay in Thailand for 4 months. I am married to a Thai and have a house. I was thinking I could get a 30 day extension after the end of the initial 90 days. Is this OK? I don’t have a Thai bank account.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a Non-O visa for four months but is concerned about the extension options after the initial 90 days. Comments clarify that a 30-day extension is not available on a Non-O visa, but they can apply for a 60-day family visit extension without financial requirements, or a one-year extension if they meet the financial proof conditions. There's also a temporary COVID-19 extension option available until November 26. The extension fee for the family visit is approximately 1900 baht.

As people correctly pointed out there is no 30 day extension on a 90 day Non-Immigrant visa of any type.

Now on a Non-O based on marriage you have TWO options to extend it (really 3 right now, but I'll get to that)

1 - you meet the proof of funds and apply for a year extension

2 - you apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension

and the last option which is available ONLY until Nov 26

3 - you apply for a 60 day covid extension

That's all you got. There is nothing else available to you

Is the fee to extend 60 days 1900 baht or thereabout? I am talking about the "visit thai family extension".

@Da***
Yes, all extensions at immigration are 1900 baht.

Don't worry. I'm on the same visa. Same situation. Do your 90 days (visit immigration about 1 month after you arrive they should guide you through the process) then covid extension then family visit visa. Gives you well over 6 months stay.

unlikely that COVID extensions will remain much longer. But as married to Thai he can get one family visit extension of 60 days at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

That is exactly what I was hoping to do.😊

You should be able to apply fkr a 60 day visit family (your Thai wife) extension. No finacial requirements but otherwise mostly the same paperwork as the 1 yr extension. You can only get this extension once.

that is his best solution 😊

No, you cannot get a 30 day extension on a 90 day Non-O. You can only apply for a 1 year extension, but it would require you to have 400k baht in a Thai bank account for 60 days before you applied for the extension.

Thanks Garrett. I don’t know how the consulate in DC will react since I showed a plan trip of 120 days in my visa request. I have not bought my plane tickets yet so I can adjust to a shorter trip but I don’t know what they will do considering there were no questions about a Thai bank account in the visa request.

As david said, non immigrant visa holders don't need to show onward travel. Also, a visa and an extension of stay are 2 different things, and have 2 different sets of requirements.

For Non-O visas you are not required to show onward travel since those people are generally intending on staying for longer periods.
