My Thai wife and I are planning to go to Thailand on Nov 10. I have a visa and am working on the COEs. I checked with 2 insurance companies and they won’t provide the $100k COVID insurance for her since we are planning on coming into Bangkok ASQ and because she is Thai. Does this mean that if you are Thai and not doing Phuket/ Samuel that insurance is not necessary. And what she were to get covid—what to do?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether Thai citizens require COVID-19 insurance when entering Thailand, particularly concerning the Alternate State Quarantine (ASQ) protocol. The general consensus is that Thai citizens do not need insurance when entering Thailand under ASQ, based on the entry requirements listed by the Thai government. However, there are differing opinions about the necessity of insurance for Thai citizens in other contexts such as the Phuket Sandbox. It is suggested that individuals check with the Thai Embassy for the most accurate and current information.
