If it was Ebola I would totally understand but this over reaction will cost the country dear. In terms of tourism it's a death knell. In terms of long stay foriegners not a chance. It's like they are purposely trying to ruin there own economy over a virus we now know much more about and has been blown totally out of proportion. Crazy times.
I would await a government announcement. You book the flight and it gets cancelled I hear refunds are difficult to come by. Call me cynical but they need the cashflow at the moment.
They are going to enforce social distancing on Aircraft. This effects load capacity and price unfortunately or the airlines simple couldn't make money. Not that Thai airways has made any money in the last few years. It will apply to all airlines for the time being
So sorry Mark any advice to you now would be pure speculation. My gut instinct from the beginning was this shutdown with the low infection and death rates was a show to improve the image of the country and that it wouldn't be in the governments interest to commit economical suicide in the long run and make this a drawn out thing. Already in one month 10 million out of work so it would be crazy to do so.
