Hi! Does anyone have experience returning to Thailand after completing an educational visa? How long would I have to wait before returning to Thailand on a normal tourist visa?

My wife’s non OA will expire at the end of the month (31 Oct). She’s not going to extend it and would change to apply for the non O. She’s now not in Thailand.

The question is: can she return before 31 Oct and tell the immigration officer that she’s not going to extend her non OA and ask the IO to stamp her in on visa exemption (her nationality entitles her to enter on visa exemption)? Or she must wait till after 31 Oct then return? Thanks in advance.

I am here with my son 30 day visa exempt. Our exit date is September 7th.

I plan to go to Singapore a few days before that for my birthday. Only going to stay in Singapore for 2-3 days then return to Bangkok for another 30 days…visa exempt.

This seems simple enough. Is there anything I should aware of, worried about or take heed of??

Thank you for any advice

NEWS on updating TM30 in Chiang Mai -

If you return to Thailand and are living at the same address, you do not need involve your Thai landlord in updating your TM30.

Immigration will simply 'update' /'refresh' your TM30 for you without landlords help.

This was my experience June 2023 and the same for two others with me. You never know when things can change, but just thought to update.

Hello, I have a quick confirmation question in regards to the tm30

if you are flying into Thailand, but will be returning to your home address (where your old tm30 was registered to) am I correct in thinking that you don't need to apply for a new tm30?

I will arrive back tomorrow afternoon and I want to see if I need to pop over to immigration on Friday/if my landlord needs to register me again.

Flying into Chiang Mai if that matters

TIA!

TM30,

Hi. This group helped immensely when I previously had a question regarding my first TM30 reporting.

I hope you can help me now with this query.

I own my own condo. I am currently in Australia. I will return to my own condo shortly. Do I need to do another TM30 - given it's the same as my first one?

Thanking you in advance.

Hi, everyone! My friend is currently employed with a governmental school in Bangkok. Her visa expires on the 31st of March and she is not willing to extend the contract. There are many reasons for that, I won’t waste your time describing them here. Anyways, she’s planning to leave Thailand for a week and go to Vietnam. She wants to come back to Thailand on a different status since she requires some time to find another job. Her passport allows her to stay 45 days without a visa. Many questions bother her now. How many times can she extend her visa? What is the procedure to extend a visa after 45 days have expired? Does she need to show a return ticket when she crosses the border? Has anyone faced a similar experience (when a non-B visa expired, you returned on a tourist visa)?

Thank you in advance for your answers. Any information is valuable.
