I think more useful this warning if we know what kind of visa or visa exemption got denied entry. For example in last month I was in Siem Reap few days and no problems at Poi Pet but I have Non-O.

the people who get denied are trying to get in visa exempt. <- meaning they do not have a valid visa for thailand and are trying to use one of the two free entries by land people can get in a calendar year.

Someone who had only a visa exempt entry and a 30 day extension recently went to Siem Reap for a few days, then tried to come back to thailand by the poipet border but was denied and told to fly back in.

It was the fact you held a valid visa to thailand that got you in there, because do not know of any reports of people who had a valid visa to thailand but were denied at that border 🙂

that is key to entry... You had a Non O Visa.

Most do NOT 🚫 have a Thai Visa.

They seek to enter using BORDER BOUNCE....VISA EXEMPT.

Or they have stayed/living in Thailand using varied visas and COVID extensions during the last 1 to 2 years. Causing the questions by Thai Immigration.

Okay listen up, the REASON that passport control uses on almost ALL denial of entry stamps is the same ไม่มีปัจจัยยังชีพตามสมควร <- no way to support yourself in thailand.

That's because they can't legally deny you for being in thailand too long, or any other reason.

That is the "catch all reason" and they use that even if you show them you had the 20K baht in CASH to show as proof of funds to get in.

Also remember at the land border all they do is turn you around and send you back to the country you just stamped out of. BUT if they deny you entry at the airport it is totally up to the immigration officer at passport control as far as if they'll let you go to any country you can get in to OR send you back to the country your passport is from.

THIS is a denial of entry stamp at the Aranyaprathet / Poipet border..

Yes even back in my early years in 2004 it was a horrible experience the only good thing was the free secret bus from Bangkok and buffet breakfast at the casino.
