On Thursday May 28th the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued this letter to All Foreign Chambers of Commerce.

IF YOU hold a CURRENT THAILAND WORK PERMIT and are now outside of Thailand..

My notes:

1. If you don't have a current work permit and have the correct Non B visa...your employer can request a permission to work document from the Thai Ministry of Labor...then you also can apply...(helpful for many teachers coming to or back to teach)

2. A COVID-19 TEST result is NOT required...but a Fit to Fly Certificate is required.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS to apply for permission to enter Thailand.

IT IS NOT FOR OTHER FOREIGNERS...

regardless of what other visa you may hold.

For further information...please contact the Thai Embassy in your home country...per instructions.

Commenting is closed.

We post it as helpful information.

There will likely be much discussion on other Facebook forums and Twitter.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued clarification for foreigners holding a current Thailand Work Permit who are currently outside the country. Individuals without a work permit but holding a Non-B visa can have their employers request a permission to work from the Thai Ministry of Labor. A Fit to Fly Certificate is required, while a COVID-19 test result is not necessary. Further inquiries should be directed to the Thai Embassy in the home country.
