At times like these when I try to help someone with their question about the need to show a bank statement when applying for a Tourist Visa in Vientiane, I get this message and the OP deletes his post ๐Ÿ˜ข

"Yeah I got that already now are you a parrot or what?

I told you I got it wrong you don't need to repeat yourself."

Pardon me...but as you can delete your post...I could delete you period! Though I choose not too.

You can go find helpful information elsewhere if you like.

Sorry you did not like my correct answer...and had you waited a moment longer you would have read an added reply from me that its possible you may still get your tourist visa tomorrow...just show kindness and respect to the staff. And if at all possible print out a bank statement showing 20,000 Thai baht or its equal. ...I do wish the OP Good Luck.

And for the record...this information has been posted on this forum many times re VIENTIANE...

Tourist Visa, if you had previously some Tourist visas your application will be considered more carefully. Vientiane is now, in most cases, asking for proof of funds, Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up. Onward air ticket is not required.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Tourist Visa in Vientiane, it is now generally required to provide proof of funds, which can include a bank statement showing a balance of at least 20,000 THB or its equivalent value in USD (at least 700 USD). It is also noted that previous Tourist Visas may cause the application to be reviewed more closely. An onward air ticket is not currently a requirement. The discussion highlights the importance of kindness and respect towards visa application staff.

Henrik Highmountain it stays up because it's a forum, not an IM. Info here is for all to see not only the OP. It for all to see to stay up to date with what is going on in Thailand and to stop everyone repeating the same questions over and over... honestly the mods and admins here have patience of saints and dont get half of the respect that they deserve.

. I honestly think at times people believe this group is a public service provided by the Thai authorities. The way people demand answers and then get the shits because the answer is not what they wanted to hear often leaves me shaking my head, especially when most of the posters have got themselves into a corner through their own ignorance.

I choosed to delete my post because an answer was given and you locked the comment sector?

Why should the post be up if it's locked for comments, then I can't tell you how it went tomorrow anyway?

I did like your answer but you didn't have the need to repeat yourself 3 times, I got it the first time.

Thanks for your reply tho and sorry if you thought I wasn't happy about the answer, I know I fucked up and all there is to do now for me is to wait for tomorrow and see what happens, if I won't get a visa when I get there tomorrow and have the bank statement I will just ask if it's ok if I apply again on monday but with all papers from start.

Thanks for the group and that you didn't delete me from it.
