I am going to share this Post which was submitted for approval Friday March 24th at 9:00pm... and I replied via PM with my advice.
I have not shown the name of the poster, BUT wish to share this as we get this kind of question about traveling out of Thailand when on an Ed Visa for Study of Thai language.
Especially now, due to the ADDED SCRUTINY of ED VISAS... and the SCHOOLS by Thai Immigration, students are expected to be attending classes and pass tests in order to obtain any extension of stay of the Ed Visa.
Questions are being asked by Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival back into Thailand. And reentry may be DENIED, especially if you have a recent history of staying in Thailand using varied visas Visa exempt entry and COVID extensions.
I suggest you FOCUS on YOUR STUDIES and leave the travels to other countries until after you have completed the full course of study.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling out of Thailand on an Education (Ed) Visa for studying the Thai language poses risks, especially under current scrutiny by Thai Immigration. Students may face questioning upon reentry, with the potential for denial based on their visa history. It is advised that students focus on their studies and postpone travel until after completion of their course to avoid complications.
UPDATE... As I said, we are getting reports of those who are on the Ed Visa and leave Thailand for short travel, being questioned by Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival back into Thailand.
THIS IS HAPPENING NOW....
Friday night March 24th 11:30pm at BKK Bangkok airport.
So Please do not leave Thailand during your Ed Visa and its approved Ed Visa extensions of stay.
