FYI... this appeared on a forum today about the ease of using the New TDAC Arrival Card

"Sharing my experience in case others are worried.

My arrival in Thailand is scheduled for May 1st. Initial concerns regarding the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) application proved unfounded. The process was completed in under five minutes; the application was simple and straightforward. The email confirmation/QR code were received immediately, with a convenient download option also provided after submission. The entire experience was seamless and straightforward."

If you can buy a airplane ticket online, you will not have any problems with the TDAC.

Is this a requirement for all ppl including Thai

not for Thais, only for foreigners.

it's a fair question

Yeah, the Kiwis and Aussies always do that. They discriminate against their own citizens. Thais are smarter; they make foreigners do things they don't require for their own.

Yes I mainly asked because I’m heading to Laos in a few weeks and wondered if my Thai GF had to fill one out on re-entry

Nope, she's good to go. Only mr. farang has to (interestingly, so do Laotians, which will cause chaos). Malaysia exempts Singaporeans and vice versa for Singapore. Not sure why Thailand isn't exempting it's neighbors. I can see problems for Lao, Burmese and Cambodian citizens who don't understand English and will be forced to fill out this form in English. While border pass holders will be exempt, those traveling on passports will struggle.

discriminate - "make an unjust or prejudicial distinction in the treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of ethnicity, sex, age, or disability."

if rule is same for everyone, where you see discrimination???)

In the case of Australia and New Zealand, they should be exempting their own citizens. Other countries do this. Even the USA wasn't requiring arrival forms for their own citizens while foreigners had to fill out the white or green I-94 forms (depending on whether they were coming with or without a visa).

So yes, it's discrimination because Aus/NZ citizens aren't being given any special privileges despite the fact they are citizens and thus should have more rights than foreigners.

In Thailand's case, the arrival form isn't required for Thais, which is the way it should be.

@Paul ******
you have very interesting definition of discrimination by not discriminating 😅

No, it's a form of discrimination. Most other countries grant privileges to their citizens that foreigners don't get. Australia and New Zealand treat foreigners the same or even better than locals. These two countries are WOKE as f***.

there will also be kiosks at the airport in case people didn't fill out a TDAC in the 3 days before their arrival here
