Your thoughts and advice is asked for by a European citizen who is under age 50 and loves Thailand.

I share this.... with his permission:

----------

"I have been in Thailand since February and left last month...July

I did land border runs twice in 2019...which is my limit ...as it can be done only twice a year, if I understand it correctly.

I want to go to Thailand again at the end of this month...August

I'm not sure whether I will be allowed to come in ....or if I shall apply for Tourist Visa which is 3 months instead.

If I will be able to get the Tourist Visa, I am not sure.

And I have a new passport recently if that makes difference...

No stamps at all.

Also in 2017/2018, I used to go in and out every two months for couple of months... to Malaysia then back... which is not what they like...

I presume too.

Seeking advice.

Thank You.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A European citizen who has used their limit of border runs for entry into Thailand is seeking advice on re-entering the country. They are considering applying for a Tourist Visa as they have not traveled back with any stamps in their new passport. The comments suggest that a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) could be beneficial, but note that past border run activity could affect re-entry.

there is no guarantee that Thai Immigration will allow entry. Its the decision of the Thai Immigration Officer upon your arrival. Having a visa may be better than seeking visa exempt entry (no visa).

get a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV). The new passport not really help, doing a border run they will see that you did two run this year. He can also get a SETV, however no indication which country he is from.
