Greg Alexander Thai wife ? I would think that my stating “I qualify” would make that clear. But, to your main point… Thank you for the thoughtful response. I do have a lifetime pension that is greater than the monthly requirement. The 400,000 is also not a problem, but it’s nice to know that after a year of deposits I can roll over to the monthly. I appreciate your time.

Thanks. Yes, I was referring to the 400,000 baht deposit as opposed to the 800,000.

with all the “O’s” I get confused. I can qualify for either the retirement or marriage visa, with the marriage visa being cheaper (obviously) but better ?

7,500 ??? That's way low. I listened to an interview with the unofficial Mayor of Thai Town (Los Angeles) and he said the official number of legal Thai residents is around 1 million. But the actual number is closer to 2 million. And that's just Los Angeles.

Thailand is a piece of cake for the uninitiated. Just use common sense. English is widely spoken in touristed areas.
