Hello everyone, Australian sailing to Thailand to next year to retire. I'm 50 years of age and receiving a monthly pension that exceeds the minimum amount. My question is I would like to live on my sailboat in Thailand, to apply for the retirement "O" visa I need a place of residence can I use a thai Marina as my address. Has anyone done this? Looking for some advice on what order to do things next, in now my O visa has been issued this morning.

I'm off to Hat Yai in four weeks time, looking to live there.

I have a condo agent ready to meet with to take out a years rental.

When I get there, what order should I do things in in relation to:

Extending to one year.

Opening a bank account.

Dropping the 800K in the account

Renting the condo.

I have one month booked in a rental when I get there which allows me to get on and sort things out.

Your advice, if you have done this, in what order I should do things, would be very much appreciated,

Good evening admin..im from philippines and newly married to thailand national.after marriage..we apply my o visa.and i complitted all the requirements except my passport.because when i come to thailand ..i used my old passport under the name of my late husband..(im widow).but i take my original documents that i am sjngle.my CENOMAR.(from PSA)birth certificate and death certificate of my late husband..so i regitered the marriage on my single name....but they suggest to go back to.my country to change my single status..so i did and i apply o visa in philippjnes.in thai embassy..but they advice to do it through online..so i applied it but because i confused when they asking my recent travel document..i send to them. My old paspport where i used in first tjme and married here in thailand.so it is not match in my married certificate..so they denied it...i recieve email that denied but i am here already in thailand..so they told me to reapply again..but when i go to the website they are asking me to send the booking ticket..how i do this..i am now in thailand ..not in philippjnes...and i have no computer here so that i can do ot easily....we are thingking to gobto the fixer office but its too expensive..my thai husband is only a simple life living...working in the hotel in koh samui.and me i cannot work here because i have no work permiti i need first to have o visa then apply to permit to work....but they denied.through my mistake upload passport ...i dontbknow what tondo. I dont know who i can talk...or asking dvice so i jojned tonthis group maybe it helps.. any advice my friends? I want to change my O-A to an O visa. Is it important that I cancel my current visa Extension first or can I just bounce across a border, get a 60 visa exemption stamp and let my current Extension lapse?

What documents do I send with my O visa application online regarding proof that I am in Australia

I have worked out everything so will be applying to the embassy in the US for the “O” visa to get my 90 days coming into Thailand which should hopefully allow me to open my Thai Bank Account and transfer the 800k Baht to season for 60 days so I am able to file my one year extension.

My question is I do know the area I think I want to start out and was planning on using Airbnb. I am wondering if this feasible or if I actually would need a more permanent address? I am hesitant to go straight into a one year lease and everything I see all say one year contracts or is there a way to terminate a lease early. Or is there a place to look for shorter term leases?

I entered Thailand on an O Retirement Visa and now need to extend it. For the visa itself, I did not need to provide proof of health insurance, but I’ve read that such proof is required for the extension. If this ist right, does anyone have experience with the combination of German Beihilfe and private insurance, and how this can be documented in a way that is accepted by the immigration office? Could somebody give me advice?

M 59 , Applying for OA visa in london.

Will my husaband 42 M be able to apply for O visa , 90 days then get extension of stay as my dependent ?

Well getting caught in the U.S. Federal Government downsizing so will be retiring this year versus next year. Right now I'm planning on landing along the coast between Bangkok and Pattaya and will be applying for the 90 day "O" visa (I think versus the OA) to enter and then doing the one year extension after I get a bank account sorted out. So a few questions for anyone willing to provide any guidance or thoughts to the following:

1) Not 100% sure this is where I want to end up, but would it be better to stay in the same area until after the first 12 month Visa extension is completed or isn't this an issue (I keep reading there are slight differences in different immigration offices).

2) Anyone have a recommendation on an agency to assist with the opening a bank account, getting Thai license, and 12 month extension either in Pattaya or Bangkok?

I expect to arrive in Thailand sometime late Oct or early mid November (just completed a two week vacation there a couple of weeks ago. Any other thoughts or tidbits someone wants to share will be greatly appreciated!
