Good day all, l have taken an early retirement, 59 yo, and l am self funded. l am an Australian citizen. I was wondering what is the best retirement visa to apply for, O, O-A or O-X. l want to move to Jomtien permanently. l have sufficient funds for the 800k thb bank account and can provide a 80k thb a month income. Also, is the process of applying 100% online (SA based). Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I used to have an OA retirement visa but it expired in 2020. Since then I've had 60 day tourist visas and this year just used the 60 day visa extension.
I'm now considering applying in London for an O visa, going to Thailand and applying at the Jomtien Immigration office for a 1 year extension for the purpose of retirement. I'd make some return trips back to the UK during that year.
Four questions. 1. Would the Thai Embassy in London issue an O visa for this purpose on proof of sufficient finance in the UK?
2. Can I place the necessary money in a Thai bank account say 2 months before arrival in Thailand and so qualify for the visa extension very soon after arrival in Thailand?
3. What is the minimum time I have to wait after arrival in Thailand before I can apply for the 1 year extension? I ask because the O visa is valid for 3 months but I need to be back in the UK after less than 2 months.
4. Doing things this way are a police check, medical certificate and 1 year medical insurance unnecessary?
Hi all, could somone advise how many O visas for visiting family can one apply for in a 12 month period / calender year. Currently in the UK but will eventually apply for a marriage visa. TIA
Hello all once you've qualified and got all your Visa stuff in line and you're living in Thailand on a retirement Visa does the $800,000 Thai baht have to stay in the account for the whole duration of the year or does it just have to be in there a couple months before you renew
