Use an agency. Most of the staff at foreign embassies and consulates are Thai so an agency knows how to deal with them.

Tom Whyte It is Baht NOT Bath If you are planning a long stay you need to get the Currency right ( Thais as well as Farangs will laugh at you if you keep saying BATH instead of BAHT )

Mine is now 20,000 for my annual retirement visa. But visa agent handles everything, including the 90 day reports. I only go to immigration once a year, all reports are done by my agency. It is worth it for peace of mind and convenience.

Same with the police. It is usually up to the immigration officer or police if they allow entry and both can be bloody minded when it suits them. Do your own research with immigration and do not listen to gossip on the media

I get my UK pension paid into WISE Then I transfer it to one of the two banks listed with my WISE account. I used to use Bangkok Bank but they started to get very slow transferring the money into my bank account ( sometimes 4 or 5 days ) But when I switched to Kasikorn the transfer was immediate ( in seconds ) So now I always transfer my pension into Kasikorn and then transfer what I need for bills into BB

Nothing you can do about it. I am lucky I worked in Guernsey for years and receive an index linked pension from Guernsey as well as my fixed rate pension from the UK. With the annual increases from my Guernsey pension that will overtake my UK pension in a few years.
