Anonymous participant 345 why hopefully? You get your DTV why concern yourself with how others obtain theirs. You don't make the rules. If some embassies accept then great. A Thai entrepreneur has done a good job in providing a service.

If that is their "new" policy then they miss out on all the non O visa holders as non of them are working either

It's also possible they just didn't want to do it. 5 days seems an extremely long time for a process that usually takes around 20 minutes

Which branch was it that denied you?

people have been discussing them in the past. The OP is clarifying the costs and potential downfalls of using them

Recent reports show Jakarta has been processing in about 3 days. Not guaranteed but a couple of people have reported this speed in the last week

you may have got it for dental implants for example. They were happy to issue the visa at the beginning why would they then insist on further dental treatment? It doesn't make any sense

I guess I need to block you so I don't read any of your pontificating nonsense any longer. Bliss

the only numbers we know are the 30,000 they said in the last interview and that they wanted a "lot" more. I guess we can only speculate what the number might be.

I never said I was in the know. Can only look at what the government officials say.

You appear to be the pot calling the kettle black here with all of the previous things you have posted and your obvious desire for the government to make the process harder. Or at least that is what your post's suggest.

Personally be happy if they just let it flow as it currently is and more happy DTV holders enjoy Thailand

if 100,000 more people were here on the DTV renting condos and going about their daily purchases are you saying that would not help the economy? Your expectations of the DTV and others are just different. Maybe the government have plans that they haven't shared with you

Also they may never check when you enter the country and things may never get stricter.

The economy needs more people living here and this visa would certainly appear to be part of that.

Only time will tell but I'm one for seeing it for what it is and not on the side of they will tighten it up to be unusable
