doesn't have to be in a Thai bank account. But have to show balance on account used

Anonymous participant 855 you have literally no idea what immigration wants or likes. You are just expressing an opinion. Until immigration make an announcement that border runs are not allowed on the DTV (which is highly unlikely) then people that have a DTV can do a border run.

they tried to bribe him at Poipet for 10,000 Baht. It is known as the worst entry point in Thailand even if you have a visa. But yes according to you it counts. Funny how these bribes and refusal of entry are not happening anywhere else. I am not being obtuse at all , just getting the facts from each situation.

You are a group expert allegedly and you believe that the Thai border at Aranyaprathet is an appropriate point for anyone to cross?

it's Poipet it doesn't count. I have had a non O retirement for a number of years and was refused at Poipet a few years back and had to fly in from Siem Reap. It cannot be used as an example and no one should ever arrive at that entry point

the one at the border with Cambodia doesn't count. I read that one and they actually tried to scam him. Anyone with any visa can have issues at that border. It's known to be the worst entry point in Thailand

The guy at BKK had particular issues that 99.99% of DTV holders would not have

So as I said there does not appear to be issues with anyone using the visa normally and arriving normally, the wild west of Poipet doesn't count and should only ever be used to leave and not enter

that's the same for any visa. Currently you appear to be scaremongering with no examples of this actually happening.

We can either be positive or negative regarding the future of this visa. Personally I am posyas it would appear they want much more people in country spending money boosting the economy.

Personally don't see any tightening up and even less issues at immigration as people arrive in country and those are the daily examples of what I am seeing

so on re entry they were asked for their financials and proof of what they are working on or their soft power reasons?

Have to say I have never seen a post where someone has shared that on re entry

If it has happened a few times I can't find it by searching.

All I can see is people posting they just came back with zero questions or issues.

@Kevin *******
where was anyone quizzed on re entry. Please share any posts where this has actually happened

The numbers appear to be totally made up. The only real number we got was the 12,000 in the first 3 months.

why is it a red flag and what actual examples do you have of embassies refusing for this purpose. Or are you making assumptions?

There could be many legitimate reasons to switch. Not least the annual renewal which is a pain to say the least.
