@Kun *******
my SWIFT transfer from my Australian bank showed up as a domestic transfer as it had gone via Citibank in Bangkok first. I trued to do everything right, as suggested by others and moderators in this group; I opened a Bangkok Bank account, I spurned transferwise as an option and I used an international transfer with a SWIFT code from my oversesa bank to my Bangkok Bank account, but still it ended up appearing in my Bangkok Bank account as a domestic transfer

Using a SWIFT transfer isn't a sure thing either. My Australian bank chose to send my monthly equivalent of 65K baht to Citibank in Bangkok before it landed in my Bangkok Bank account, and thus it ended up recorded as a domestic transfer. The Bangkok Bank manager advised me to use transferwise in future as he was adamant that the SWIFT transfer from my overseas bank would not meet the requirements for my next visa extension

Tod Daniels Often have officials boarding the buses heading to and from Mae Sai checking documents. Admittedly they are looking for people from Myanmar without the correct paperwork mostly but it could be riskier for her than an airport departure

After you've done the first one you can do subsequent 90 day reports by post or online. I use the postal method 81 baht for stamps, EMS tracking and two envelopes. It's very efficient, my last one took 4 days to come back to me after lodging it at the post office

Valentina O'Gara I'm sorry you had such a hard time of it, I had read your comments in previous posts and was honestly expecting the same. This is why I posted because it was such a surprise and hopefully a change

You do not need to take the tenant's passport, a copy of their ID page should be enough to register them as staying at your place, at least that's all my landlord needed when he did my TM30. I guess you could take along a copy of their visa and entry stamp just to be sure

I guess you could come on a single entry tourist visa from your own country as you did last time, enter for 60 days and extend for 30. Then you could do a border run to Mae Sai / Tachileik get another 30 days entry which you can extend at immigration for a further 30 days giving you five months in total, and then if you required one or two months more you could do the border run via Mae Sai again. You are permitted two such land border crossings per calendar year

Also you can apply at any time for your extension, you do not need to wait until the day before. The 30 day extension is added on to your existing permitted to stay date ie you don't lose any days by applying early

Flight out is not required at Chiang Mai immigration when applying for an extension. If you are on a tourist visa they do not seem concerned about you having lodged a TM30, (other visa types, they care very much about whether you have a TM30). If you have been staying in a hotel it is likely that the hotel has registered you with immigration anyway. You need a copy of your data page of your passport and a passport photo and 1900 baht. You can fill out the application for extension forms at immigration
