It should be no problem. Since you use airplane from Denpasar to Thailand you do not cross any land border crossing. Since you only stay a few weeks every time a tourist visa is enough, and since you are from Hungary you are visa exempt so no need to apply for any Thai visa. I have been flying BKK to Denpasar many times, no question asked, I only needed Indonesia visa on arrival in Denpasar.
Thailand does not seem to like tourists. When the pandemic kills many in the US they should be more flexible. Only approx. 6,500 tourists arrived in Thailand in December 2020 so why not try to keep those tourists already arrived?
Pattaya International Hospital has promotion on PCR test. You get results next day from their laboratory and you get a certificate to show airlines and immigration. Price is expensive 6.500. The hospitals squeeze the remaining tourist/expats for their last dime. LOL. They too have reduced number of customers.
Yes, it was one Canadian who as required to prove he had Bhat 20,000 in order to get a tourist visa. I have a retirement visa and I have to prove transfer of a minimum 65,000 a month into my Thai bank account. Before I got visa on arrival and no requirements for any money.
Interesting. I believed the immigration stopped giving extensions, exempt for medical reasons or if you get an embassy letter that says you cannot return. I will look for more information my friend want to stay longer.
Great! Nice to see someone arriving; too many expats leaving. Occupancy rate in apartment complex where I live in Pattaya is less than 20%. Waiting for management notice they closing down. More security guards, service personnel, and accountants than tenants.
Thailand will start vaccination from Q3 2021. It is alleged the vaccination in Europe will cost $10x2, so even after the traditional Farang extra cost it should be affordable.
The insurance demand smells fishy to me. The motive should be to get tourist, retirees, and expats to have sufficient insurance, so they do not become a liability for hospitals in Thailand. I have been admitted to hospitals four times in Thailand and my insurance has paid all expenses. When my heart stopped, I was brought to Bangkok hospital. My insurance cover it. if I had insurance in one of the Immigration recommended insurance companies, I would have had to pay it all due to a preexisting condition.
For example, Pacific Cross insurance does not even cover treatment at Bangkok hospital, Bumrungrad and some other private hospitals. The approved insurance options look like a scam to enrich insurance agents and “others”. Thailand will lose out in the international competition to attract retirees at the time the Thai economy need us the most.
