Hi guys!!!

For those that are applying for the covid extension. The immigrant said that I have to show where I am staying, either a hotel or someone’s house. If is a hotel, I can show a report letter to prove I am staying there, and if is someone’s house I need to show their lease and ID.

Any idea of what to do if I can’t prove any of this?

thank you for all the advice, and the jokes... you guys made me laugh. ha ha ha

Some question in the group can seem poorly formulated, but I hope everyone understands that for some people, including me are new in the country, and due to covid, many things are complicated to deal with. I am not stupid and I can prove everything that I am doing in this country. However, I did not know how to proceed as I been here for only a month and I got no information about my question.

Sorry for the ones that know everything, I hope next time if you see any stupid question, you either let it go and don't say anything that can make someone feel bad about, or you say something that can really help.

if you can not prove anything it will be rather difficult. If you sleep on the beach, hire a lounger and ask for a receipt

Interesting. I believed the immigration stopped giving extensions, exempt for medical reasons or if you get an embassy letter that says you cannot return. I will look for more information my friend want to stay longer.

Why wouldn't you be able to prove any of that? Just a refunable hotel.

its the law for hotels or wherever you're staying to check foreigners into the system for immigration, if they don't do it within 24hrs they will usually be fined 10,000 thb

Hotels and hostels usually use the online reporting system for tm30's and immigration can simply look it up on their database and you don't need to bring anything in. It's always a good idea to tell the staff of where you are staying the day before you go to immigration that you need to be reported in the system as you are going to immigration and they require it. Some places don't report you even though they are legally required to that's why it's a good idea to check with your hotel before you go to immigration.
