The tax thing is still unclear and not yet enforced (it might never be, or it might only be enforced in a few years...anyone's guess right now). The point is, immigration is most definitely not interested in it. It would be hilarious if they asked for tax proof while you're standing at a land border coming back in. If that ever happens, foreigners will stop coming to Thailand so I don't think that's something to worry about.

Totally agree. At this point, I wouldn't worry about it and not take any action. Unless enforced, at which point you can decide how to deal with it. At this stage, nothing will happen.

It gets complicated if you're coming and going regularly, even if you happen to spend more than 180 days cumulative total in the country. Thais are bad at math, I can imagine the confusion if you're trying to show records of having spent 220 days in the country in one year, but this is made up on 25 separate entries!

Exactly the same for me. I have my own sole proprietary company, but I didn't provide it for the purposes of my application. Instead, all employment documents were from my employer.

Not necessary. Many applicants are entering Thailand by land after applying for a DTV in a neighboring country.

I don't recall the DTV being announced as temporary, though who knows? The 60 day visa exemption is of course temporary, that's pretty obvious when you consider that neighboring Asean countries, which operate on the principle of reciprocity, have not extended a 60 day visa exemption with the possibility of a 30 day extension to Thai nationals. It's a one way flow - Cambodians get it when coming to Thailand, but Thais still get only 14 days when visiting Cambodia.

They'll go back to the old status quo sometime next year.

As for the DTV, hard to say, but like the LTR, I think it's here to stay but is likely to be reformed.

There is no walk-in service for a Thai visa in the USA anymore
Paul *******
I don't think they can do that. Only immigration has access to that database, not Thai embassies abroad.

Bring along everything but in the end, submit your application based on one or the other only. If one category fails, you can try the other.
