This exact thing happened to me. I just went back on the visa exemption. Within a couple weeks, my DTV was approved. A few weeks later, I went to Cambodia and came back. No problems.
Yep. I just printed a screenshot. No guarantees, but it worked for me. It doesn't seem like a big deal to just come on a visa exemption or whatever you are eligible for. Then if your DTV is approved, you just leave and come back.
I had this same issue recently. I was waiting for my DTV for a month after having to reapply. Rather than wait, I just returned to Thailand on a standard visa exemption. At the airport I showed them a printout of the page showing that my application was still pending. They were ok with that. After a couple weeks back in Thailand, my DTV was approved. Now I just have to leave and come back next month.
No we don't have to register as an individual business. An independent contractor or freelancer gets different types of tax forms and you just file as an individual person.
My primary employer is a non-profit organization. I have a contract with them, but as an independent contractor. I'm not really considered full-time staff for them, but their business is to hire people like me for big projects. Since the contract is ongoing, I don't have a 1099 tax form from them yet, but will get that from them this year.
. Pretty sure it was by hand. The second time I did it, I noticed that the background on two name boxes was dark and the background on one of them was lighter. After refreshing and checking it a few times, finally all the backgrounds to the name boxes were darker. That seems to be some kind of mysterious detail to pay attention to.
I have to return in 15 days for the stamp. On the form, I put "unable to travel be ause of covid" for the reason. I asked her what I could write for how many days and she told me to put 30 days. I didn't try to discuss it with her further.
