@Ray ****
DTV is just a tourist visa, you have to visit immigration at least every 180 days unless you travel every 90 days.

Non-O is a long term visa, you have to visit immigration once a year.

So telling there is no difference is absolutely wrong.

On DTV you get only 2 years drivers license and no Thai bank account.

On DTV you need to have a remote job, or keep doing soft power activities.

On DTV you have to leave the country at least every year.

On DTV you need 500K the whole validity period, no income affidavit possible.

So
@Henrik ****
just is correct non-o is generally a better visa, unless you don't want the things that make it better of course, and maybe like the shortcomings of DTV.

Anonieme deelnemer 701 Chatgpt will give different answers on the same question when you ask 2 minutes later, very reliable...

Since the internet is full of wrong answers, chatgpt will also give a lot of wrong answers.

But now I know why some people think you should ignore postings of Anonymous people here, maybe they are right after all!

That is a very optimistic planning that might get you in trouble.

Applying for a visa less than a week before traveling is often too late.

Anonieme deelnemer 532 This rule is not only for DTV, when you apply for a visa you have to remain in the country you apply till it is approved or rejected.

Not doing so might get the application rejected and the fee gone.

@Pete ******
that was not my question, what will you say to the police officer when he tells you this is only valid for 90 days.

Anonieme deelnemer 312 DTV holders are good customers and residents?

DTV holders are no residents, but tourist for a bit longer period.

Why should they be good customers? When I see they mostly want to have an account to use free ATM and QR promptpay I highly doubt they are good customers from the view of the bank. Where will be the profits for the bank?

When they don't ask for every page of your passport there is no need to do so.

Only the biopage is enough.

When they doubt you really are in the country you apply from they might ask for all pages, but there is no reason to do so before.

Anonieme deelnemer no, you present old passport, new passport and visa, and they will stamp the new passport.

Some people say an offical remark in the new passport referring to the old passport number also might work.

The transferring of stamps is only for other type of visa where you get an extension of stay each year and need a re-entry permit.

Because those extensions are done by immigration, they can transfer.

DTV is multi entry so you get new entry stamp of stay every time.

Visa will not be transferred, only stamps for a stay can be transferred.

You will need to take old and new passport for the rest of the visa validity period, so for your conveniance it might be better to apply for a new passport first.
