TLDR : Answer Summary
The community confirmed that every time a non-resident returns to Thailand after leaving, the 90-day reporting requirement is treated as a new first report, which must be done in person. Online check-in is not applicable for individuals on the DTV (Desirable Thai Visa) who are required to report in person for each entry, given that each check-in is considered a first instance. If one wishes to avoid the necessity of in-person reporting every 90 days, it is suggested to travel internationally every 89 days.

The Immigration told me that on DTV every 90 day report is a first report to be done in person, since you should leave ( or extend ) before day 180.

After that you start from 0 again, in a new visaperiod.

Every time you enter the Kingdom from abroad, a 90-day report is always "a first".

No, you can extend in country and then stay 360 days without leaving Thailand.

Yes

First time is your first time you must report in person

Anytime you return from an international destination ahd stay for 90 consecutive days that is considered your first time and you have to report in person

If you don’t want to do 90 day reports do an international trip every <89 days for the next 5 years

Good luck

We can never use online check in on DTV. It only works for people who can physically stay in Thailand a year or more at a time. According to the rules, you can do 90 day check in for your second 90 day report wherein you’ve stayed in country for that time. As we leave every 180 days, that doesn’t work for us.

online works for people who have a stay longer than 180 days, so for DTV with in country extension, or for non-o who can extend there inititial stay for many times.

Many DTVers have done it, as if you stay 180 days, you can to it twice, and if you extend in country (some have), then more than two times

You don’t need to do a second 90 day report if you are leaving the country within 180 days. And once again, every time you leave the country, it resets.

But you’re right in one case: DTV users who extend their stay within country could use the online system after their first report.

Most of us have found it easier to leave than do extensions within Thailand.

if you did your first report before day 90, your second has to be done before 180 and can be online, so better not before 90 in case you want to stay till day 180.

Yes I think you are right I applied online and was rejected that is why I wanted to double check because ppl always so your second time you can do it online but technically at that time you would have left the country and came back

Yeah, work, retirement visas and anyone else who can stay 365 days per visa without leaving have the option. We are still tourists.

you can always do your 90 day report 2 weeks prior…so some people do it because they just do

Some people also get in country extensions
William ********
DTV_Begpacker I don’t understand your comment. Whenever you do it, you have to do it in person.
Elías ********
@William *******
no, not always
DTV_Be*******
@William *******
not on the 2nd time

The second time you can do it in person, snail mail or online

DTV_Begpacker So, I’ll repeat: From what I understand, we cannot ever do the 90 day report online.

To be able to file the 90-day report online, you must have reported in person or by mail at least once in the past, without having left the country.

But we always have to leave the country within 180 days, so we cannot ever do the 90 day report online.

Yes, that’s correct. You could technically do it online the second time (in case you submit it earlier than 90 days, usually about two weeks before). However, it’s almost pointless if you plan to leave Thailand within 180 days or less. Once you leave, it resets and you’ll need to do it in person again.
