Do I need to provide flight tickets and hotel bookings for a Thai DTV visa application?

Hi everyone,

Is it mandatory to attach flight tickets and hotel booking proofs, or is it acceptable to simply mention the intended stay address in the application form? Also, since I’m currently residing in a different city from the address on my passport, would a rental agreement work as valid proof of my current residence?

Would really appreciate any guidance from those who’ve recently applied. Thank you! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The need for flight tickets and hotel bookings when applying for a DTV visa in Thailand varies by embassy and current regulations. Some applicants have successfully used non-refundable hotel reservations and dummy flight details, while others have been required to present actual tickets and confirmed accommodations. It's also possible to use a rental agreement as proof of residence if living at a different address than the one on the passport.

I applied in the UK, and they asked for a flight and accommodation booking. I already had a flight booked, but I just booked an apartment that was free to cancel. I used my UK driving licence as proof of my UK residency. I rent out my home, so I couldn't provide utility bills.

Where are you going to apply for the DTV visa?

Where are you now?

What is your passport nation?

Which purpose for the DTV visa are you applying for? Workcation or Soft Power activity?

Only the embassy can tell you, some are OK with intended flights. others want to see real tickets.

I can only comment on the first paragraph. You don't need proof of flight. As for the accommodations, I booked a hotel first that is fully refundable and used that. After DTV is approved, you can change that hotel booking as you're not committed to it.

Well, it depends. Earlier it was very easy. Even when I applied 2 months ago, I just wrote dummy flight details and hostel name that I never intended to take. However, if you are applying from Laos, Vietnam, Combodia, Indonesia; make sure to provide confirmed, fully paid ticket and hotel.

Due to high volume of applications, they are extra cautious and we have seen a few rejections from these countries as well in this group.
