What's your car buying budget? Personally I believe in buying top of the line models that are older, my logic is if they could afford it in the first place they were able to take care of it. Try and get a car with only one or two previous owners if it's used. Pick something bulletproof, easy, and cheap to replace parts like Toyota's. Modern cars are just plastic and electronics.

Very hard to get off the agent acquired visa and financials if they were taking care of that for you because if you go to immigration they will look to see if you kept the 800k for 3 months after your last extension.

To get a non O while in Thailand you deposit 800k baht in a Thai bank and then go to your local immigration office and apply.

a non O is/can be a retirement visa, what's hard is getting a Thai bank account without it to qualify for the yearly extension.

Get the non O before you come.
