I currently have a non-O foundation volunteer visa and work permit that I've held for 15+ years. I'm switching to a religious (RA) visa soon. The department of religion said I need to apply for an E-visa and recommended getting it in Penang, Malaysia.

The problem is that I can't apply for an E-visa if I'm in Thailand. What's the process for switching visa types like this?

I see my post was removed. The answer from Tod was great. Not sure why it was removed. I had a follow up question about my wife and son. Do they need to apply separately or is there a place to include them as "followers" on my application?

Good morning.

Currently on a non o extension of stay based on marriage.

Looking to change to a non b.

I understand that the process to change is:

Cancel the non o

Bounce out and return on a 30 day exemption

Then process to non b application. (Already have the work permit)

The cancellation and application part of the process can be completed at my local (kanchanaburi) immigration.

Do I have this correct please?

Thanks.

Does anyone know the steps for changing a non-b visa into a tourist visa? I can only find information for the other way around.

The situation is I've accepted a job in a different province and they're telling me I will need to cancel my current visa/ work permit and switch to tourist while the new employer completes the new visa documents. Anyone who can share their experience or advice will be appreciated. (American)

Hello, I will be going from an education visa to a retirement visa in September, I live in Phuket, and I'm from the US.

I would like to do the 800,000 baht method.

Can I start transferring from my US bank now while the rates are so good?

Can I do multiple transfers or does it need to be one lump sum?

Is there a particular Thai bank that's preferred?

I’ve used the search function and I’m not finding all of the answers so my apologies if this has been asked previously.

Thank you! Stay cool out there. 🙏🙏🙏

Is it possible to apply for a Change of Visa from student (ed) to business? I'm currently on an ed visa but there's the possibility of working for a company so I may need to change in order to get a work permit. If so, what's the process?

My first request. I have been to immigration!

I have the "retirement visa". I am getting married to my Thai girlfriend.

Immigration advice for changing to marriage visa is go to Laos from Iran Thani, my retirement visa will be cancelled at the border. Go to the Thai embassy and request an O visa and return to Thailand and go to Udan Immigration to request a marriage visa.

All no problem.

But trying to find what documents the Thai embassy wants in Laos seems difficult.

Any advice and guidance would be welcome.

Thank you
