TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion concerns frozen bank accounts in Thailand, primarily those frozen due to police investigations, specifically affecting Thai citizens. Concerns have been raised about the prioritization of Thai accounts over frozen accounts of foreigners, which some users believe are being handled arbitrarily, leading to significant delays without resolution.

This article is specifically about accounts frozen due to police investigation, and has nothing to do with the mass Bangkok Bank account freezes. Calling the number would be useless to the vast majority of people with frozen accounts. This article is specifically abouit Thai citizen bank accounts, as it even mentions "citizens" in the text.

What makes matters worse is the bank is likely prioritizing processing of these Thai accounts over re-opening the accounts of foreigners they have mass frozen arbitrarily on their own. Hence people waiting weeks after going to the bank and still not getting their accounts opened.

while I agree with you generally, I think a huge net was cast for account owner authentication which snares mule accounts many other accounts under the KYC (know your customer) doctrine. Even today law enforcement admitted they drew broad brush strokes and will narrow the scope. How that pans out for foreigners caught up in misalignment with identity details for banking apps and various visa type holders is yet to be seen. What is for sure is Bangkok Bank is going balls to the wall to redeem itself.

Yes but the Thai government doesn't care one bit for foreigners. You see there was no mention of this for the last few weeks when it was Bangkok Bank going crazy with foreigner accounts. It's only getting traction now that Thai accounts are starting to be affected. Which is where the efforts should have started to begin with. There are a LOT more Thai accounts than foreigner accounts, and I would bet most of the mule accounts are Thai people. I've heard a lot of stories about Thai people being paid for opening bank accounts and doing transfers for unknown people.
