well the last 3 times I have been it took 5 minutes to complete on my phone at the airport or ferry terminal. So yes, I still feel free to follow my desire to visit a great place with great people. I think what you missed is it is up to 3 days before departure.

you think I am unaware of what anyone wanting to enter countries like UK face? I worked with immigrants, asylum seekers and many friends have struggled with the UK immigration system and the policy of creating a hostile environment. The main difference is the transparency whereas some may describe the Thai system as hostile with a smile. Two faced. Part of the culture to pretend confrontation is uncomfortable whilst behaving as if it is a requirement. I never pretended things are superior at home but I do say that because one does wrong does not make it okay to follow suit.
