For my second one-year extension, I switched from proof of 800k bank balance to proof of pension from the embassy. I brought a letter from the bank, a bank statement, and copies of my bank book to the Immigration Office in Khon Kaen. They didn't look at any of the bank documents. Next year, I only need to show the letter from the embassy to get my extension.

I was refused to get a TIN.

They said I can come back after I stay more than 180 days in Thailand and when I can show a statement with income transferred to a Thai bank.

I'm not saying all banks are perfect. I've had "issues" with banks in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand. You can't change it. You have to accept it or switch banks.

Not criminal, but ignorant or negligent.

A bank customer also has a duty of care.

This includes paying attention to all messages. There are people who don't install the banking app, but certain messages are only delivered via the banking app, not via SMS or email.

You can't compare a bank in Thailand with a bank in America. Every bank has to comply with the laws and regulations of its respective country.

A phone number that isn't linked to your passport, or you missed a notification that you have to visit a BBL brunch, are just two possible reasons.

Is there a note on the passport extension stamp indicating whether the extension is based on the embassy certificate, 800k, or 65k? I want to use the certificate, but I also have 800k.

I would like to withdraw the 800k after the extension.

However, I need to be sure that I received the extension based on the certificate.

I have the banking app on my phone.

If you accidentally swipe the notification away from the display (and thus delete it), you can search for it under "Notifications" in the open banking app.

Anyone who has the app installed and whose account has been frozen should search for the message there.

An app is an application on the phone (a piece of software). Facebook, WhatsApp or banking software are apps.

I got only an app push notification that said to go to brunch within 30 days otherwise the account will be frozen.

No app, no push notification, no information say go to the branch.
