Your plan will not work. There are only 2 things you can use for the first 1-year extension.

1) 800,000 baht in your Thai bank account

2) Embassy certified income

Since the UK embassy does not provide income certification, you are left with option 1.

You don't have to be on any specific visa to get married. Enter Thailand as a tourist and get married.

You can break free yourself without leaving, but it will take 2 years, and your agent will have to be getting your extension from the immigration office where you live.

That will be up to the bank. The manager of each branch office gets to decide what they require. So one branch might require it while another a km down the road does not.

It's only Bangkok Bank that does that. You'll need to check with them for the specifics of it.

You can just go home and immediately apply. Your passport from the UK shows that you are a UK citizen. There's no re-establishing yourself.
