I agree with Brandon. Only question is will they allow you to do a border hop or make you apply in your home country?

If it helps once a booking is confirmed the details have to be approved by the health authorities. There are various agencies involved which stops any underhand dealings so the hotel need confirmation that everything is in place. They need to arrange sealed taxi etc and have everything available for checking and approval. They can then send you the QR code and confirmation. Be patient. I am sure it will all be ok in the end. The travel agent or airline you booked with sold your details onto the visa agency. It's common in SE Asia, when you check into an hotel as a lone western male reception send your details and room number to a local escort agency, hence the phone call, "hello I am from Mr Kim . He has asked me to welcome you and show you something. May I come to room XXX please?

Seriously if you are worried book yourself into a cheap 150 baht fan only hostel for your time period. You can then stay where you want but don't check in anywhere using your passport. Get girlfriend to check in
