I feel for your parents needing to deal with the Paris Thai Embassy.

1) it is E visa application only

2) They are the worst people in the world to deal with. At one time, the French would travel to London in order to swerve the Paris Thai Embassy. That is no longer possible due to Evisa.

The denial rate there, particularly for METV is high. They want exactly what they want. They won't be fobbed off with anything less.

3) Good luck getting any European based insurance company signing that certificate. They just wont sign and stamp anything issued outside of the company.

You may want to find out what the actual turn around time is NOW for postal applications. I have reports of 3 and 4 weeks wait now for walk in appointments. I guess due to the Christmas holiday applications

Once you have obtained such visa, you can enter the Kingdom and therefore apply for a Work Permit from the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour.

In order to expedite visa issuance, your employer may, on your behalf, apply for the Work Permit in advance (with the form called Tor Thor 3). The Department of Employment will then issue a pre-approved certificate to be used in your visa application. In such case, please make sure to obtain the Work Permit (Tor Thor 2) once you arrive in Thailand.

Andy Dwyer I could think of other things to call the TVF immigration committee rather than reliable. Particularly the lovely Sheryl, the most important person this side of the Atlantic. A hybrid version of Quincy MD and Miss Marple. They make it up as they go along playing too their fan club

In case the OP wasn't aware, the Danish consulate in Pattaya now appears to be closed.

Bangkok is the nearest for him now.

If you read back through that thread, he went to CW first, they told him that the 30 day stamp was correct as he had no Insurance.

How you could walk through to immigration at BKK, in order to get a stamp changed, I have no idea.

There appears to be more confusion than answers.

All this swapping and changing around in order to avoid this new legislation is only going to end one way. That will be teers all round.

Watch this space.
