Hi everyone.

I just had my DTV approved in 24 hours from application in the Hong Kong Thai Embassy. I went the soft power route (Muay Thai Class)

I provided:

- Passport

- Recent Picture

- Proof of being in Hong Kong (Landing Visitor Visa Picture)

- Proof of funds (Over 500,000 THB in a single account, 3 months of statements)

- Invitation letter from the Muay Thai School - Muay Thai Fever, 6 months course for 20,000 Baht with proof of payment. Special thanks to Derry at Muay Thai Fever for being extremely responsive via emails.

I applied Tuesday at 3:00PM through the Thai E-Visa portal.

I received my DTV today at 3:30PM by mail with no further questions.

I would like to thank this group for all the help. I'm happy to answer any questions.

ORIGINAL POSTER
Hong Kong Thai Embassy.

I saw a report that they were refusing Non b visas to anyone not holding a Hong Kong residents card and only issuing a transit visa in order to get back to Thailand.

I mailed the Embassy in order to try see what was what and to avoid anybody here having a wasted journey. I did stipulate I was a UK passport holder and if it applied to other visas. They only replied regarding the Non b. I have mailed them again to clarify the other visa situation. I will report once they get back to me regarding other visas

My email and their reply as follows

Subject: Visa for Thailand

Dear sir, I am seeing reports it is no longer possible for non Hong Kong residents to apply for a non immigrant B visa.

Can you please confirm and is it only Non B visas which are effected or all visa applications?

I hold a UK passport and wish to know if it is still possible to apply?

Kind regards
