Shortly to renew my retirement 1 year VISA, Using the income (read pension) method what should a "proof of income letter" look like in order to be accepted ? How simple can it be and still be accepted ? I will use the Chonburi Immigration in Jomtien / Pattaya. My bankbook (BKK-BK) shows 1,1M baht has been transferred over the last year.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew your retirement visa using the income method in Thailand, your proof of income letter should ideally come from your consulate, confirming your pension. Given that the Danish Consulate has stopped issuing notarized affidavits, ensure you obtain a letter stating your pension details. Also, make sure your bank transfers show consistent international payments, meeting the requirement of at least 65,000 baht per month for the last 12 months. Contact Jomtien Immigration directly to confirm what documentation they will accept.

In case the OP wasn't aware, the Danish consulate in Pattaya now appears to be closed.

Bangkok is the nearest for him now.

:/

You would have to check with Jomtien, BUT you can't use quarterly deposits into a thai bank to hit the proof of funds for monthly income.

The rule is totally clear, a minimum of 65K baht per month each month EVERY month for the preceding 12 months before you apply for the extension.

I believe you cannot use monthly income as a method to meet the proof of funds and would have to use the 800K baht banked money method.

You need to check with Jomtien BEFORE you need your extension to see what they will and won't accept

Because you can get that pension letter from your consulate you cannot use the monthly transfer method by showing monthly incoming transfers for more than 65K baht per month for the last 12 months. The only people who can use that method for proof of funds are people from countries whose consulates that stopped issuing the letter and people from countries whose consulates never issued the letter.

The Danish Consulate discontinued the affidavit of income from abroad notary letters last year BUT they do issue a letter stating you get a pension and that's what you use to show the immigration office.

Contact your consulate to get the letter.

I have used most of the 1.1M - pension i payed quarterly - every 3 month. Basically my income is 3 x that of 65K Baht per year. I can't get any proof from the Danish Embassy, they will only issue such if the pension comes from a Danish source.

Does your bank transfers show as International Transfers in your passbook?

Did you transfer internationally a minimum of 65,000 Thai baht monthly for past 12 months?

Do you NOW AND FOR PAST TWO MONTHS have at least 800,000 Thai baht now on deposit in YOUR BANK ACCOUNT...here in Thailand ...???

Why do you want to use the INCOME method to qualify?

thanks for the good info. Lucky Danes ๐Ÿ˜‰

because the Danish consulate started issuing those notary letters again, I don't think even IF the O/P had transferred the required amount monthly into a thai bank account in their name that it would be accepted.
