My Belgian friend spends 2 weeks in Thailand and 2 weeks in Belgium continually. Enters at Suwannabhumi.
He has done this for 2 years.
He has already pre booked flights til the end of the year before prices rose a few months ago. Travels first class although I can't see how this could make a difference
Including car depreciation a taxi will work out cheaper in the long run, especially if not used every day. I use my car once a week to go distances over 5km, usually to Tesco. I have a Honda Click for daily shopping to
****
and local Big C etc. I get 50km to the litre.
I drive to the beach 4 times a year or Issaan once a year. I have had my Toyota Ativ 1 year and 1 month, only driven 5,800km. I use the car if I have to drive into central Bangkok about 20km away and get 20km/litre in the city.
I opened an account a year ago with no problem. I congratulated the lady on ease of opening. But they still did have to make copies and I had to sign many forms.
They speak good English. I only had to show my rental contract, passport etc. They did NOT ask for a work permit..but Bangkok bank at Khao San turned me down because of no work permit.
