I arrived back in Thailand on June 30th. My 90 day report is due late September (90 days after re entering). But I have received an email, re 90 days, saying to report on August 24 based on previous 90 day reports.

I filled in a TM30 online within 24 hours but received no confirmation.

Should I do a 90 day report online AND visit immigration late September?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is due for a 90-day report after re-entering Thailand, but received an email prompting an earlier report based on previous records. Multiple comments clarify that the email is automatically generated and unrelated to the user's current status, and there's no confirmation for TM30 submissions. It's advised to complete the 90-day report online around 10 days before the actual due date, dismissing the earlier email as irrelevant.

That’s because they don’t know you left the country,

I can do online. Not in person-good.

I'm surprised immigration cannot tie the information automatically on their computer, ie. adjust the 90 day date to zero when a foreigner returns to Thailand.

upu should see the government website for visas, 90 days etc. Looks like it was made 20 years ago. So old fashioned. Links go round in circles

and for these reasons I do everything manual, since i am new here and immigration is 10 mins away!

Thanks.

I searched the app and my residence had been entered.

You don't get confirmation for TM30. You just do a search on the app and check that it's been registered

I have not done a tm30 on line yet, but if you do it manually, you get told to keep the copy they give you and that becomes the reference date for your next 90 day report! Frankly i have a low trust level for this online shite!

TM30 has nothing to do with 90-day report. Your 90 day report date is governed either by your date of entry into Thailand, or 90 days from the previous 90-day report. The TM30 is registered each time you move address outside of the province in which you're residing. The TM30 app is excellent as it takes about 30 seconds to complete whilst you're sitting at home. It sure beats traipsing to the immigration office to do it. But of course, I always emphasise that it's each to their own, and whatever someone is most comfortable with

Thanks I hadn’t heard of this

The Section 38 app to register address

The TM30 does not give confirmations. If you want to confirm that your submission was accepted you have to search for your entry and using the search feature, which is also what you would provide for proof of TM30 If needed.

The email you received is automatically generated based purely on 90 days from your previous report and isn't linked to any system to know that you left the country and returned. You can ignore it.
