The insurance is useless. What you’ll collect in claims is little more than self insurance. If you can keep insurance from your home country, annual travel insurance, and accident insurance if they will sell it to you, its better. Get Non O visa

The tourist sim is a fair deal. Get one with plenty of data. Wifi here is extremely inconvenient to use. Kicks you out if you font make a keystroke for a moment, wont save logon info so you have to reentry passport number etc. Hotel wifi often useless too, so you want to tether your laptop. I did get 70 gb good for 1 year from AIS for my extra phone, but its slow.

I got the impression with Covid and everything that about of Thais want to welcome foreigners unconditionally, want to do the reasonable right thing, and hate Farangs and would kick us all out except 2-week wealthy tourists. I guess within the government, they duke it out.

IDP doesn’t have Thai. Law is that you need a license in English OR an IDP but police may demand anything they want.

We’d be happy for you to stay home.

Also research Luma or any other company you are considering. It’s forbidden to criticize a company in this country, pretty much but…
