Tourist visa will easily get you 90 days. 60 plus 30 day extension.

Currently the STV gets you 90 days and can be renewed 2x equally 9 months.

However it cannot to modified to another visa or extended any longer. You have to leave when it is done. Extensions are straight forward for visas, 1900b lots of photo copied stuff, no need for an agent.

By your post you will have 90 day non-o based on retirement when you arrive and spouse will be non-o based on being married to you. (Must be done before you arrive, otherwise the spouse will have to leave and reenter)

I am in phuket and each office can have different rules, but we were able to do our one year extensions at the same time. Required only a photo copy of our marriage certificate, not translated or notarized.

It was actually very simple except for many copies needed of:

Passport pages- EXTRAS of husbands to attach to her file.

Tm30

Current bank statement- do a transaction that day and update

They also made me copy all pages of my bank book

Bank letter no more than 7 days old

Stamped and picked up the next day, 1900b each.

You may need to go to the local immigration and ask to be sure.

That was our phuket experience.

I am not sure why you would go for an O-A visa.

The non-o has less requirements and gets the same results.

If you are applying for an e-visa it is all done online and requires some effort but is not difficult.

The trailing spouse visa is applied for after the primary spouse has been approved.

I am not sure that it matters where you are applying from as it is e-visa.

Once you are in Thailand , money seasoned the extension is straightforward.

We just did this arrived in Nov. and extension is complete.

Nope not even for real-estate agents either.

Yes you have to have everything booked and ready to go before applying.

Pretty much anybody who fills it out correctly will be approved.

There is really no worry of being declined, as long as you fill out everything.

yes as long as this type of Visa is available.

Cost for visa extensions of really any kind, 1900 baht.

Simple answer, yes you need the 90 days health coverage as part of entry. (As all tourist need- even non-o we are tourists).

AXA is reasonable for the insurance about a 100 cdn per month for 3 mth policy.

When you apply for non-O retirement extension, it is not required.

It is a tedious process, but many, many of us have done it.
