Do I need to book my SHA+ hotel and buy medical insurance before applying for a 60-day tourist visa to Thailand?

Sorry, another online visa question. After looking through the embassy website in Los Angeles, it appears that you first apply online for a visa(60 day tourist) and then for the ThaiPass. It says that you only need a bank statement and flight booking to apply for the visa and then you need the SHA+ Hotel and Insurance certificate to apply for the ThaiPass. However, when applying for the visa it asks yo to upload the SHA+booking and insurance certificate. So do you need to book the hotel and buy medical insurance before applying for the visa? I looked but couldn't find the answer to this question. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you need to have your SHA+ hotel booking and medical insurance ready before applying for the 60-day tourist visa. The application process requires you to upload these documents along with your bank statement and flight booking. It is advisable to complete all necessary bookings to ensure a smooth visa application process.

Now that the embassies don't really handle visas in the offline manner they used to, as paper applications from each person, they are very bad about updating their websites. They were never good at updating their websites to begin with, but it's even worse now! The fact that they change the requirements every few weeks doesn't help either.

But for the most part, you know if you qualify for a visa. If you are going to Thailand, make your bookings and get everything in place and you should have visa and Thailand Pass in 1-2 weeks.

Thanks so much, that's kind of what I thought but I wasn't sure. I actually spent most of late

in Thailand and then came back to get my vaccine. I'm now ready to go back but I haven't really been paying attention to requirements because they seem to change every week. Thanks for your help.

Yes you have to have everything booked and ready to go before applying.

Pretty much anybody who fills it out correctly will be approved.

There is really no worry of being declined, as long as you fill out everything.
