DTV approved in London. Wife applied first as workcation showing work/income documents etc. Hers was approved in 3 days then I applied as spouse with her DTV number and showed marriage certificate and certified translation (we were married in Italy). They requested further documentation from me, original Italian marriage certificate and an apostilled translation. Got these in 3 days and resent to Thai embassy and approved the next day. Landed on Tuesday this week from London with no issues at the airport. Also we had no return ticket out of here and it wasn’t asked for, heard a few people have been asked for them though, some have even had to buy one at the airport before entry allowed. Something to be mindful about.
Hey, would anyone be able to clarify the definition of ‘spouse’ in Thai visa law for the DTV visa? Can you be married in Thailand or does it have to be in your home country? Is proof of the relationship enough or do you NEED a marriage certificate?
For context, my partner and I have been together for 15 years and have a daughter. We have previously held partner de facto visas in Australia where proof of the relationship is accepted as eg; child’s birth certificate, photos and written statements, and a marriage certificate was not required.
Has anyone submit for spouse and dependants on DTV in Taipei? Just wondering if we can submit the same day as the DTV holder or do we wait until the next day upon approval? trying to plan accordingly to book flights. Thank you in advance🙏
Depend visa extension questions, we've been told to provid our marriage certificate date less than 3 months by our lawyer. it seems a tight timeline as we need to have it shipped from France. What we have in hand is what we got from May, would this work if I apply for my extension in OCT? anyone can find relevant official info about it?
Hey all, we're moving to Chiang Mai this fall. My husband will be teaching. I'm curious if anyone from the US knows this...does the background check for the Non-Immigrant Type B visa have to apostilled or officially certified? Or can we just order it from the FBI and that's good enough?
Same question in regard to birth certificates and marriage certificates.
my marriage visa is due for renewal, just checking the embassy website and there's no mention of needing a letter from the Amphur to prove you are still married, I had to get one last year. Do I need the prove we are still married? Many thanks
I have just got the 90 day non-o trailing spouse / dependent visa at Penang and I wanted to ask if anyone knows what my local immigration is likely to need for my 12 month extension.
Before you say ask your local immigration. I have and as I'm English with English husband they were unsure but said get the 90 day then come back and they would try and find what I needed.
I'm passing through Bangkok on my way back to Pai so if I am likely to need translation of marriage cert or whatever I'd like to get that sorted while I'm in Bangkok rather than have to travel back down from Pai.
I tried to post this question before but was declined as it's not a visa question? Not surprising I can't find the answer on the search 😁
Hello there. My husband and I are on separate retirement visas each with the 800K in the account but wonder how difficult is to combine it to make one a dependent? Is that possible to do? So we do not have to tie up 2 x 800K?
