Is the Special Tourist Visa (90 + 90 renewal) still available nowadays to apply for a Thai consulate like the one of Penang?

If yes, is there a major difference in the application process?

On the official website, I’m not confident that it’s up to date as they speak of covid and they refer to older dates.

What's going on with the STV nowdays especially now that we're in October? is it dead? the long stay company no longer has it on their site

What happens if you get approved for the STV (evisa) after you've arrived on visa exempt? Just got the email and already got stamped in with 30 days. Does my STV 90day automatically cancel or does it mean that I have 90 days as opposed to the 30 I got stamped in with? Many thanks!

UPDATE; 19.7.22

so i went to the immigration office in Chiang Mai today hoping to get a covid 60 day visa after my 9 month STV comes to an end on 31st July.

I just took all documentation that someone said I'd need in a comment from the original post (so basically just copies of all the relevant pages of my passport and i signed these)

I got to the immigration at 12.30 and left at 16.23, I felt very relieved that quite a few people had left when it got to 16.00 as I really don't think i'd have been seen if everyone had stayed to be dealt with. It seemed to be going so so slow.

On the positive side though I received an "under consideration" stamp. The lady at the counter just told me I have to go back on August 2nd and will get a further 45 days visa. So this will be 60 days in total. The visa period starts from today rather than on the 31st July when my STV runs out, which is a bit annoying, but I did think there might be a possibility I wouldn't get a visa today and have to do a visa run to Laos, so this inconvenience is definitely the one I'd choose over the other.

So there we go, that's my experience dealing with my STV ending :-)

So my STV will come to an end on 31st July and I was wondering what other people are doing who are in the same position as me?

Can we just obtain the 60 day Covid Extension Visa, I know this is only available until 25th July.

Would i be able to go to Chiang Mai Immigration today and get the 60 day extension, I'm not sure if today is a holiday or not.

I'd also like to know what types of paperwork is needed for an extension if I can get one, I believe that the special insurance that covers covid that was needed for the STV is no longer needed for the Covid Extension Visa, so that for starters is something less that's needed.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m a newbie and will be applying for non O retirement visa when in Thailand next month after initial tourist visa from uk. A couple of quick questions please

1 , I don’t need to have funds in bank for non O retirementVisa but must have seasoned my funds 2 months before applying for extension to non O retirement visa ? Or whats the difference’s for people applying for the initial non O retirement extension and people applying for following years extensions?

2, A lot of post mentioned STV or tourist visa’s , is their any difference in the two when applying for non O retirement visa in Thailand

I think I’m overthinking the hole process, will it be a case of going to a visa shop and taking their advise or is it necessary to know the ins and outs of the process ?

Two questions regarding Tourist Visa (SVT).

I'm about to apply for my SVT. I intend to stay 90 days. So, 60 days and file for an extension in Thailand as required. Proof of round trip flight is required with SVT application. Should I book my return flight for 90 days, as that is how long I intend to stay? Or, do I need to book my return flight for 60 days, then reschedule the departing flight after getting my extension? Next question, are 30 day extensions denied very often?

Hi there. I'm wondering what's the best option for visa for the longest time possible? From research so far I'm guessing Multi entry? Hoping to stay 6 months or more.

I plan to enter Thailand on a two month tourist visa, plan to extend in Thailand for one more month. Makes a total of 3 months. But I need to stay 20 more days...what are my options please ?

Is there any visa lasts longer than 6 months for tourists?

My partner Kay and I plan to visit Phuket and stay for 6 months, we don’t have a visa yet and finding it quite confusing! We’d welcome some advice on the best visa to get.
