I’m in Bangkok, went to BangkokBank with US Passport in hand, to set up account using Non-O stamp, TM30 + lease. The lady then asked me to get a Letter from US Embassy Certifying the that my Passport was really mine. No clue why. I guess I could have also brought my California drivers license and my Canadian passport as proof of my ID. What’s my move? Bother with a bureaucratic embassy OR learn my lesson and bring the supplemental IDs to the next branch I attempt to setup an account (do Thais understand the principle of dual citizenship or will using the Canadian passport as ID confirmation confuse them?)

I still haven't heard anything as of Dec 20th.

It seems like most people are seeing faster turn around times after document request than me. Any advice or experience? I don't fly until Jan 20th, so maybe they are delaying until closer to the fly date? I'd rather just have it settled...

Hey guys, I’m currently in Thailand and trying to figure out how to stay longer—around 3 months or more.

I’d like to avoid those land border runs (I really don’t trust those mini-vans 😅), but I’m trying to plan things out properly.

Here’s my situation so far:

- June 2 to July 10, 2024: I stayed in Thailand earlier this year (used the 45-day visa exemption + 30-day extension).

- December 9, 2024, to February 7, 2025: I’m currently here again (planning to use the 60-day visa exemption + 30-day extension).

I'm from Portugal, Europe..if that matters.

In February 2025, I’m thinking about leaving by plane for a week, go to China for a few days, and then flying back to Thailand.

My goal is to get another visa exemption for another 2-3 months.

I know it’s ultimately up to the immigration officer, but how strict are they considering the days I spent here the last year, idk if the 180 days reset on 31 December or something.

Would this work, or should I look into another solution? Train, if there's an option?

I’m planning to get an DTV/ED in June 2025, so I just need to figure out how to handle my stays until then.

Hello, can I do a one month extension on a one year non O retirement visa ? If yes, how long before it expires. And I have to do a 90 report, do I have to do it at the same time or is it ok when I just go for the extension ? I mean do I have to mention the 90 days? Thank you so much.

DTV UPDATE: London Embassy. Submitted Monday 5:30pm, request for additional documents Wednesday 3:40pm - so around 46 hours

Request was:

* Photograph taken within the last six months.: - Please upload new photo (clear and focus) or use your mobile phone to take a selfie photo in plain white background and close up your head and top of your shoulders. (Your face must be clear and in focus and take up 70-80% of the photo.)

* Other request documents: - Self assessment tax return / Statement of accounts / Accountant's letter / Personal tax calculation or computation statement from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) (Apart form your name, you can conceal any details that you would not want to show.)

So I have taken and uploaded another picture and downloaded my self assessment (submitted earlier this year) from HMRC.

Fingers crossed they are satisfied and I won't need any more additional documents... who knows! I'll keep you updated!
